Changing the organizer of a meeting has traditionally been a challenge for Microsoft 365 users. If someone left the organization, changed responsibilities, or needed another person to take ownership of a meeting, they often had to create a new meeting. A few months ago, Microsoft introduced admin-initiated meeting ownership transfer,…
Microsoft is introducing outbound external messaging limits in Teams for organizations using only the default MOERA (onmicrosoft.com) domain. The limitation will begin rolling out in mid-September 2026 to help protect Teams from any abusive activity. Once the limit is reached, users may be temporarily unable to message external users. Admins can add a custom domain to avoid being subject to this limitation.
Microsoft Teams admin center is introducing a single-pane experience for monitoring and troubleshooting meetings and calls across the organization. Rolling out from late September to mid-October 2026, it lets admins view meetings, identify issues, access diagnostics, search and filter data, export results, and use Microsoft 365 Copilot for analysis.
Microsoft is introducing a new Communicator app in MS Teams for targeted communications such as training updates, compliance notifications, safety alerts, and more. It lets organizations assign actions and track acknowledgment status in real-time. Public Preview and GA rollouts begin in mid-August 2026, with completion expected by January 2027.
Microsoft is rolling out new OneDrive policy that let users manage their own file-level sync exclusions by default. In addition, .db-wal files will be added to OneDrive’s default exclusion list starting October 5. Admins can control the self-service experience and override the default exclusion list using two new policies.
